What is Blackout Poetry?

Blackout poetry is a unique form of self-expression that has endless possibilities!
Using a page from a book, the poet "blacks out" words on the page, leaving only the words that express what needs to be said. It transforms one piece of art into another!

Join OPL as we create beautiful and meaningful works of art! See some examples created by library staff below. We will invite your own works of blackout art to be displayed at the library and on this page.
